We arrived at our hotel the night before our big wedding shoot. In an effort to test our newly rented Nikon D600s and get into filming mode, we quickly shot this short film. Everything was done on the spot, handheld, and we had to shoot each other because we were too lazy to grab a tripod in the room. This was all made to have fun with our new gear! Nikon has just officially announced their long-awaited entry-level full-frame body. Full spec reports are everywhere, as Nikon seeds lots of sites with advance info and embargoes them until the hour of release. So I won't duplicate that content here.
But for lighting photographers, the camera has two issues that are of concern. One is minor and (sadly at this point) expected.

Updated: We’ve just added a noise and noise-reduction page to our hands-on preview of the Nikon D600. We’ve got a production sample D600 in the office, and over the coming weeks we’ll be adding test pages to the preview as we move towards the publication of a full review. DxO Labs has announced Optics Pro v7.5.5, with support for the Canon EOS-1D X and the Nikon D600. The latest version of the company’s raw processing and optical correction software also adds support for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 and DMC-LX7. Support for the two full-frame DSLRs comes only in the ‘Elite’ edition of the software, while the Panasonic support is also included in the standard edition, that costs around half as much. As usual, the upgrade is free to existing Optics Pro 7 users and recent purchasers of Pro 6.
