We’ve seen almost all smartphone manufacturers put an emphasis on camera performance with their latest models. Now Chinese manufacturer Vivo is upping the ante with the Xshot. The new model is a high-end Android phone with a 13MP Sony camera module that features an F1.8 lens, the fastest we’ve seen on a smartphone in recent history. Learn more

Pressy gives your Android phone an extra button

The power button and volume rocker are typically the only physical controls you’ll find on a smartphone as almost all functions are accessed via soft-buttons on the touchscreen these days. When Lensbaby launched the  Kickstarter project for its ‘Sweet Spot’ selective focus lens at the beginning of April it was initially iPhone only. Now the company has added a pledge level for Android users, too. For $ 50 you can pre-order the Sweet Spot lens and the Android application for your device. Nikon Coolpix S810c with Android continues connectivity trend

Nikon introduces the Coolpix S810c, a compact point-and-shoot running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. With a 16 megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor, a 12x (25-300mm equiv.) zoom lens with VR stabilization and built-in Wi-Fi, it replaces the Coolpix S800c. The S810c offers 1080/30p HD video and built-in GPS, both offered in the preceding model, and adds a larger 3.7-inch touch screen LCD with 1.2 million dots of resolution.

Instagram releases redesigned Android app

Adobe releases Revel for Android

Adobe has released an Android version of its Revel app. Previously the service had only been available on mobile devices running Apple’s iOS operating system. Revel is a cloud-based image and video management service that allows you to set up group libraries that are shared between friends or family members.
