The Sony World Photography Awards have started accepting entries for the 2012 competition. The award categories have been revised for the latest competition and are split between ‘professional’ and ‘open’ categories. Submitted photos must be taken during 2011 and can be submitted at any point between now and Jan 4th 2012. Enthusiast photographers are welcome to enter either the professional or open competitions but not both. 2012 sees the introduction of a youth competition in which photographers under the age of 20 can submit images that suit the themes: ‘environment,’ ‘portrait’ or ‘culture.’ The latest competition also sees the addition of six moving image categories.

Shot with two Canon 550d cameras at 720p, and the original video uploaded is 2560×720. White balance is a little bit off on one camera, but the overall 3D effect is still satisfying.
