Photoshop Tutorial – Change Sky Color

27 Oct

Become an artist! Learn How to Draw: mhlo.co In this video, Mahalo’s Photoshop expert Justin Zagri demonstrates how to change the color of the sky in a picture to make it better conform to the colors of the rest in the image. Photoshop Tutorial – Change Sky Color ——————————————————————— If you’re keeping up with the progression of the movie poster series, then you have made a new image, added a background, masked out the sky and replaced the sky. Now, you’ll want to make it so the sky better conforms to the colors of the image itself. First, select the sky, navigate to the top menu bar and click Image — Adjustments — Brightness/Contrast. Start with this and adjust the Brightness and Contrast sliders as necessary. Next, navigate to the top menu bar and click Image — Adjustments — Color Balance. Again, adjust the color sliders as necessary, and feel free to switch between Shadows, Midtones and Highlights. Navigate to the top menu bar and click Image — Adjustments — Hue/Saturation. Adjust the Hue, Saturation and Lightness sliders accordingly. Ideally, you’ll want to match the lightness of the sky with the amount of light that the foreground is receiving, but it all depends on the artistic purposes of the particular photograph. Try adjusting the Curves by navigating to the top menu bar and clicking Image — Adjustments — Curves. If you need to, feel free to return to an adjustment you’ve already made and experiment with it
