Back then Disney owned the film rights to the Where The Wild Things Are books… they didn’t use them, though, so they lost them. This is my first proper 3d animation video, made using Maya, Photoshop and After Effects. The video is a take on the very famous ‘Desperate Housewives Season 2 Promo – Juicy’ and has been inspired by a number of sources – characters like Catwoman and Poison Ivy and various music videos. Its cheesy and corny, and hopefully shows the skills I’ve got in using different programs. Research on the anatomy and feeding mechanics of extinct phorusrhacids (“terror birds”) was published in an article in PLoS ONE (bit.ly The animation of the skull of the terror bird Andalgalornis shows CT-scan slices going through the skull (revealing the source data for much of the research), as well as a series of powerful downward bites followed by pulling back of the skull by the neck. Andalgalornis was an extinct, 4.5-feet-tall, flightless predatory bird found as 6-million-year-old fossils in northwestern Argentina.
