Visualization of Quick sort

This video was created for www.zutopedia.com It demonstrates two comparison sorting algorithms Bubble sort and Quick sort. Comparison sorting algorithms are only allowed to ‘see’ the data through a sequence of pair-wise comparisons, therefore they are applicable to any type of comparable objects: numbers, strings, colored balls, etc Bubble sort is very simple but has poor performance. A comparison sorting algorithm’s performance is usually measured by the number of comparisons it makes. Bubble sort performs on the order of n^2 comparisons to sort n elements. Quick sort is only slightly more complicated but usually performs much better (as demonstrated in the video). It performs on average an order of n log(n) comparisons to sort n elements. This is much lower than n^2 for large values of n. However, if the algorithm makes some ‘unlucky’ choices it might require n^2 comparisons after all. Other algorithms exist that guarantee the number of comparisons will not exceed n log(n), however, in practice Quick sort usually out-performs all other comparison sorting algorithms due to its simplicity. If other operations other than pair-wise comparisons are allowed, then a broader range of algorithms can be used. Some of them can perform much faster than Quick sort, but they are limited to a particular type of elements, eg, numbers is a certain range.

Chris spots an unidentified spacecraft and sounds the alarm, but it’s only Vector and his gang. They’ve been lost in space since delivering Chris’s things and now they need Tails’ help to repair their ship. Vector agrees not to cause any trouble, but old habits die hard: He comes up with a scheme to play match maker for Cosmo and Tails. As Cosmo plans a surprise party for Sonic and the others, Vector tries to force a love connection. In the end, though, Tails makes his own move.

Gas Turbine Animation

Animation illustrating the operation of the basic gas turbine engine.

“Battle of Narendra III” – Yesterday’s Enterprise. In 2344, the Enterprise-C receives a distress call from the Klingon outpost on Narendra III and engages four Romulan Warbirds. Regarding the initial attack on the Enterprise-C by the Romulan: I intended that the Enterprise had assumed there were no attacking ships present. The distress call did not specify who was attacking, therefore the ship would have ended red alert and dropped shields to transport down and render aid. At this point the Romulan attacked. I would have put this in a title screen but I rendered that scene literally months ago and I did the titles just before uploading it, so by then I had forgot what my thinking was about the scene! I won’t make that kind of mistake again… – – – – – Based upon the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, “Yesterday’s Enterprise”. SAMPLE EPISODE ONE with NO COMMERCIAL INTERRUPTION! Three girls from three different schools are transported to a medieval-like land named Cephiro. The girls introduce themselves as Hikaru, Umi and Fuu. They are greeted by a wizard named Clef. He explains that the three are the Legendary Magic Knights, that they are destined to save Cephiro. The high ruler Princess Emeraude has been imprisoned by one of her guards, Zagato, holding her high above the skies of Cephiro. Her absence brings instability to Cephiro. Clef instructs the girls as to how to save Cephiro, and tutors them in the use of magic. Treachery ensues, as battle lines are drawn.
