Microsoft Outlook 2010 – Change 15 Minute Default Reminder Time

20 Aug

Configure Outlook 2010 when it reminds you and others about upcoming appointments.

When creating appointments or meetings in Microsoft Outlook 2010, while reminder times can be set on a per-appointment basis, the default is to display a reminder 15 minutes before the actual event is to occur.

You or the attendees may find that 15 minutes is not enough time for a reminder, wanting to allow for time to finish up an e-mail or tweet, take a bathroom break, etc. Alternatively, you might find that 15 minutes is too much time, believing that no time is more productive than the last minute, and wish to provide reminders closer to the event time….

[MODIFIED] Mozilla Firefox – Misc – Display Text in the Toolbar for New Users

20 Aug

Make Mozilla Firefox even easier to use for newbies or those with lots of add-ons by labeling toolbar icons. This also displays dedicated “Reload” and “Stop” buttons.

Thus you can label each button with “Back”, “Forward”, “Home”, etc. This also gives you dedicated “Reload” and “Stop” buttons….

If you select a block of pre-written text and start typing, your typed text replaces the selected text. This is normal behavior in most Windows programs that support text editing.

However, depending on your needs and normal workflow you may wish a different behavior to occur. Some editors support a feature whereby the pre-written text is not replaced, but new typed text is placed before this selected text. To turn this behavior on in Microsoft Word 2010:…
