  • Stereoscopic 3D head tracking with the Wii Remote

We were inspired by Johnny Lee’s Youtube movie about VR Head tracking with the Wii Remote. We thought it would be cool if Johnny’s concept could actually be shown in stereoscopic 3D. For 3-D game drivers and 3-D TVs visit www.ddd.com

Visit www.avantgravity.com for a higher-res version of this animation. Just cross your eyes until the left and right images converge to form a composite stereoscopic image in the middle. …A quick 3-D flight to the end of the solar system and back! The planets are spaced proportionally apart from one another and from their respective moons, but I made them substantially larger than they should be given the distances, just to make them easier to see. The relative rotational and orbital velocities should be correct (yes, Jupiter and Saturn spin about their axes insanely fast…). I only included moons measuring more than 1000 km in diameter.

  • 3D Barbarian Queen (no glasses needed 3D stereoscope)

For best viewing, watch the video fullscreen and in 480pmode. To see the images in 3D, hold your head up straight (very important or the two images won’t line up properly), look at the vertical center line and cross your eyes. The 3D image will appear in the center. If you don’t see the 3D picture right away, keep trying, it takes a bit of practice. Music composed, programmed, and performed by GlassFree3D Dedicated to the original Barbarian Queen; the late, great Lana Clarkson.

  • Sutro Baths Photowalk Favorite and More

I had a great time at this years Sutro Baths photo walk. There were numerous photos worthy of note, but this one particular photo by Greg Lato caught my eye. I particularly liked the mood of the image. The long exposure, darker tones in the sky and leading lines of the ruins make for an excellent photo. Congrats Greg and thanks for taking part.
