I don’t know exactly what Ola is doing other than the settings shown in the video, but in my case, I can’t get real loud where I live. So I’m amped through an iso cab, which sucks. But the settings that get the best metal for rhythm are MkIV or Extreme, Pentode rectifier on the back, Variac power, 90 watt. FX loop always hard bypassed. For leads, I fucking love the same settings, just flip to IIC+ mode, and triode rectification on the back. God this amp. GOD!

Fuck yeah, and if you’re recording and don’t want to blow the walls off your place, variac switch, channel 3, MkIV OR extreme mode, Pentode on the back, fuck yeah. Fuck YEAH tight as fuck

FX loop has a hard bypass switch on the back. Individual channel masters become the final volume control for each channel. My own Mark V is set this way; it opens up when the loop is bypassed, and sounds much better in my opinion. Won’t work if you use a lot of effects and need something in the loop. It’s all up to your individual taste, just one of the billion things I love about this amp. LOVE IT!

Молодец! Очень понравилось, редко сейчас такое случается. Соло – свежее и со смыслом, красавчик, в общем!

Hey man can you do some demo’s with passive pickups in normal standard/drop D?

He’s bypassed the effects loop, which also bypasses the master volume control on this particular amp. The channel volume control is up and most likely QUITE loud.

should definitely test some budget amps like the randall rx120rh and kustom kg100hfx.. broke as a joke.

im curious why is the master output almost zero? I mean in a live situation how would you set that master output?

I found the orange channel with gain at 10 o’clock acceptable as long as there was an overdrive in front of the rectifier amps.

I had road king II. It’s a nice over-all machine, does cleans nicely, but I don’t think it’s a metal monster. You’ve got to push it too far to get a somewhat acceptable metal tone. I had to crank gain all the way to 8.5-9 to get nice tight and punchy sound and that’s just doesn’t feel right for me for some reason. I sold it and never looked back. If you want a nice metal amp, look into 5150. These are just AWESOME all the way.

I love your randall…I REALLY do, but my favorite tones from you all come from the Mesas. I guess that’s just more of my thing!

Great sound 🙂 Which amp do you prefer between the Mark V and the Mini Rectifier?
RIP your string at the beginning of the song ^^

The JVM is good, but i think its a bit too fizzy. Its definatly versatile though

Dave is currently using a Marshall JVM410h. They sound great, many agree that the JVM series is the best thing Marshall came out with in many years. And they can get to 80’s thrash metal territory, back when about everyone was using Marshall JCM800’s. I’ve played one at 2 gigs and liked it a lot, classic sound. If you really want to get a mesa, my personnal choice would be a rectifier. I’ve owned a dual rectifier and and tried a mark iv and for me there was no hesitation. Big Megadeth fan btw.
