Hey Denver, thanks for posting these great tutorials. Are these shot in come style for you to get more information as they look really flat pre-grading?

Hahaha!! Believe it or not I was just there at the beginning of this month putting on a workshop for KSCreate. Would have loved to have you! We did screencast all the demos so you might be able to get in touch with them to see if they’d be willing to provide it otherwise, my tutorials are really good 🙂

Know anywhere to get training in South Florida? (around the Ft lauderdale/miami area). Great video, going to try out the LITE version now

Nice info and demo. Don’t know if I’d apply that much contrast, but the demo clearly shows what’s possible. I downloaded Lite a while ago, now is probably the time to install it. Downloaded some BMCC DNG files to experiment with.

Thanks for the awesome tutorial. This looks like a great step up from Apple’s Color. Going to download a copy of it now.

    It’s licensed music.

It is a demo of the the software 9 so it has to be fast.

Do you think DaVinci would work with a computer with only 6GB of RAM? I got interested on DaVinci Resolve and even thought of getting the Lite version, but I wanted to know first if it would work with that amount of RAM….
    Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks a bunch for the tutorials! I am very interested in learning to be a colorist. Watched all your Final Cut videos (though, I’m a Premiere Pro user) and I’ve just downloaded Resolve Lite. Hoping to become a member of your site next summer (too busy with school now – I’m a teacher).

Anyway, I was wondering if you had any specific suggestions on reading materials about color theory?

Unfortunately, I think you’re probably pushing the boundaries of what your laptop can handle. The video card you’re using doesn’t support CUDA, which the software seems to require and that would explain the poor performance.

Sadly, replacing only the GPU in a laptop is pretty difficult (read: impossible) so you’re probably looking at a new computer rather than just a new GPU.

Is it a CUDA card? Resolve supports a variety of formats and works with them natively in dpx. Hope that helps 🙂
