OS = IS.. i may switch up my lingo b/c i use different cameras and lenses from different brands and every brand has a different name for it.. lol. yes i do recommend it for shooting video! but keep in mind, if ur not shooting on a fix aperture lens, u may hear the clicking sound if u include the audio from the recording.. however i am not sure if u keep the aperture at f4.. if u even notice.. im not even sure if u kno wat im talking about. lol

i would. its a great lens at 17mm. and its def. a great lens for overall work and a walk around lens. its VERY SHARP. and you can even use this for portraits. it also has a great minimum focus distance so you can really get close. I would highly recommend this lens for a nice overall walk around lens with great output.

I purchased a Canon 85mm 1.8, and I am really satisfied with it, however, I want a lens with a closer minimal focus distance, pretty much for closeup in your face personal shots for video as well as photo… is this lens great for up close shots? without shaking? the 85 mm i have i have to be around 2 feet away from my target. please let me know.

Eyepiece extenders were made for farsighted eyeglass wearers to help them see when the built in diopter isn’t enough. I makes the viewfinder seem further by reducing the image 30% so their eye can focus without their glasses on; though a lot of people like to add this to their camera anyway cause it looks cool and gives you extra room for your nose but unless you’re farsighted it will slightly mess with your eye’s ability to focus so you should adjust the diopter to try and fix that.

its a viewfinder extender… helps so you dont have ur face or nose rub up against your screen.. and also you kind of get better stabilization when taking pictures hand held.. look it up for your camera… beginner bodies and bigger bodies have different models

Why does your viewfinder bulge like that?

CLICKING SOUND: when sigma changes aperture while zooming in video it automatically changing F point and giving that clicking sound… we can hear it because it is not super efficient design.

the sound came from the fact that this lens doesn not have a fix aperture. i guess it is different from canon as i never had a problem w/ them and zooming in video mode.. the clicking sound only happens when you change the auto and manual exposure settings.. i believe if u do it manual u wont have a problem. but doing it auto, makes the motor work hence click. i can be that much help right now b/c i no longer have it, sorry

Also wondering if the lense is still making the sound ?

Haha, just watched the vid again, must’ve missed you mention the macro bit before 🙂
But is the macro part really worth thinking about?

What’s the macro part of it like? The fact i get 20mm extra length and the added macro function is pushing me instead of the constant f2.8 on the 17-50
