Your channel helped a lot especially as I’m still a novice in photography. I bought a Nikon D90 last month and started taking shots almost everyday. I found this video really helpful as a friend of mine asked me to take some pictures of his newborn kid. I’ll be using a 50mm 1.8G lens for it. Yahoooo! More power sir!
50mm 1.8G is a must. 95% of the newborn shots I’ve done were taken with that lens. It’s a must have lens for newborns to get shallow depth of field and maintain good quality.
Hi, I just ordered Nikon D3200 comes with Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 SLD DG Macro Lens and the standard. My son will be born soon and I’d like to take his pics. Any recommendations for lenses? thanks good vid very helpful

Unfortunately AF version will not work with D5100 as it doesn’t have a built in motor in it. Go with 50mm 1.8G AFS lens. I’ve done a review and compared both versions if you want to watch that video. Thanks for watching! Do like the videos 😛
i really love all your videos. I just bought my first SLR camera. Its a Nikon D5100. I knew nothing on photography till I watched your videos. Thank you soo much. Can you recommend which lens would be the best one to purchase for taking baby pics. You mentioned the 50mm and 85mm. I really would love to take baby pics and can only invest in one right now. Found one on amazon Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor lens.

I’ve used all from SB600, SB800, SB700 and SB900. My favorite is SB700 as it’s light, powerful and super easy to use.
What specific lenses are you using here?
hi can you tell me more about the speedlight, for example which one you have. I know they go up in numbers, SB900, SB700 etc, what are the differences and what can i get away with for my new D900. Loving all your videos, really helpful.

The same thing I used… speedlight. Window light wasn’t enough so I switched to plan B (speedlight)
besided the window light what can i use for baby portraits?
I didn’t even know there was 85 3.5. I used 1.8D. I don’t shoot wide open so having 1.4 wouldn’t help me in low light anyway. I don’t even shoot at 1.8 to be quite honest.
which 85mm did you use? f 1.4G? f 3.5G?
Im using a sb80dx with triggers or transmitters, I just feel like im not even close to using the flashes features to their potential…But gonna buy a softbox thing any day now, watched a few videos on those and im sold. I need to start filming some bikes soon! But yes keep up the good work!
Position one, yes. Power one.. sort of in the same video and the zoom happens automatically because I use Nikon flashes so as soon as I zoom, the flash knows and adjusts the zoom automatically. I haven’t made a video on how to use Manual Exposure with Manual Flash yet but it’s simple and I’ll do it hopefully with in a month. Haven’t seen your bike videos lately.
My Man! Have you or will you make a tutorial about the speedlight and how to position, power and zoom on the flash?
