Colchicum ‘Lilac Wonder’ flower growing timelapse Filmed by Neil Bromhall for www.rightplants4me.co.uk These flowers bloom in autumn. Plant in well drained soil. If the soil is too wet the bulbs are prone to rotting. This was filmed in my studio over a period of 6 days using Nikon D300 camera, Ellinchrom studio flash, Exposure interval 8 minutes The damaged flower was chewed by an unknown pest underground before it emerged. It was probably a slug Music “Gently” by Debbie Wiseman

The Scalecourse at the Supercrawl 2010, Germany

25 Dec

Maggus (Hilux) and I (yellow Landy) drive some spots of the scalecourse, that were part of the scalerun two days ago with over 30 scale-rigs at the same time. Enjoy. BTW: The steering of my Exo is a little weak on the left side 🙁

Here are 2 or 3 things you can do once you learn to set your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on your camera. Also, learn to read your light meter. This is not hard…..you just need to do it! Once you learn to adjust these settings, you will become a better photographer.

Gee’s Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt
visual art
Gee’s Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt, which was on view at the Walters Art Museum from June 15, 2007 – August 26, 2007, featured four generations of quilters and demonstrated how the influences of architecture and the environment appear in the quilters’ visual vocabulary. The rich aesthetic traditions that have evolved in Gee’s Bend, a town of about 750 people on a remote peninsula created by a bend in the Alabama River, and its neighboring community, Rehoboth, can be counted among the most vibrant quilting legacies in America. Continually renewing their designs with a combination of tried-and-true techniques and bold innovation, the artists of Gee’s Bend have improvised upon well-known quilting patterns found elsewhere, such as housetop, bricklayer, medallions, and strip quilting. Here you will see a selection of 16 of the over 40 quilts that will be on view at the Walters venue. For more information, please visit thewalters.org/eventscalendar/eventdetails.aspx?e=374.
