Ez Slide Dolly Test (Furniture Sliders) – Cheap Camera Dolly

21 Dec

Camera Dolly for cheap! Just using furniture sliders to move my tripod around. There are some small shakes but putting some weights on the tripod should do the trick. Also, remember that practice makes perfect! 😉 Featured in: lifehacker.com cheesycam.com nofilmschool.com Get updates and exclusive sneak peeks on my current/future projects! I wasn’t too impressed, until the moving shots in the living room, then I was blown away. One more option in our Frugal Filmmakers bag of tricks.

No grading/corrections? Awesome. But what do you mean by flat picture style? Thanks for the reply! 🙂

Realy incredible shots here, especially at how cheap the solution is!!! I think I may give this one a try, perhaps I’ll do a build that improves on this design, but instead put it into a unit. Hm…

seems like 90% of contemporary video production is focused on pretty image collages rolling to some cute music.. and that’s good – it makes the real stuff stand out more 😉

This is sort of genius. I can’t believe this hasn’t been thought of until now. The cinematography looks beautiful, by the way.

great!, suggestion: to make the shots even more smooth, shoot with a higher frame rate, but when editing remember to edit on the same frame rate shot. But seriously great job, it’s amazing, as a normall film dolly costs around $2K.

Was your camera doing any image stabilization during these tests? I’m assuming you thought to turn that off.
