I regretted to upgrade to the V5. Gotta prepare yourself to spend more money to buy a longer and better pc sync cord.

Hi, sorry to hear that. Have you contacted CS in Gadget Infinity? Many users of V5 use 580EX II flash and all comments we received are great. 580EX II is also one of the flashes we used for beta testing so this problem is not normal. Pls email our CS for further assistance.

Sync speed on the V5 is limited by the camera’s maximum sync speed. It won’t work exceed that. The product description already mentions that. If you have questions about dark band, email us too.

Nice product but I wish have done a little bit better. The transceiver doesn’t fit well on 580EX II, it rocks back and forth even though the wheel has turned all the way down. I’m afraid, my $500 flash will fell on the ground someday. The wheel is way too small and very hard to tighten or loosen. The connection cables are too short as well. It doesn’t support HSS (High Speed Sync), I’m getting a dark band from 1/250sec up

A very few number of V5 in the early production batch did have problem when it is used under high temperature. However, the problem had been resolved by changing one of the components inside. It can now endure up to 59 degree Celsius, far more than the 50 degree Celsius as stated in the specifications.

I’ve heard a few people experienced with the heat issue. It won’t trigger the flash if above 94degree.

As long as your strobe has sync port and with trigger voltage less than 300V, V5 works with it as well as with Canon 580.

Will the v5’s fire a mix of flashes & studio strobes together? Like a Paul bluff white lightning & canon 580??

We haven’t experienced similar problem before but will check again and get back. Have you sent this inquiry to our CS as well?

No, you don’t have any other connector. Vivitar 285HV has standard ISO hot shoe and V5 simply works on it.

I have a Vivtar 285HV and just ordered the cactus v5 but will I need any other connector?

Certainly, Cactus V5 are compatible with both Vivitar 285 and all Cactus portable flashes (AF45 and KF36).

These look brilliant! Can you possibly tell me if the V5 is compatible with the Yongnuo YN-560 flashes? Thanks!

    @scottidee

There is no camera or flash model differentiation when purchasing the Cactus V5. If you need a setup with one camera and three flashes/strobes, you will need four V5 transceivers, equivalent to two V5 Duo sets.

You may read about reliability, build and quality of the V5 in many reviews available online. We have sent you a private message with links to a few for you.

    Best regards

OK, i am going NUTS trying to decide over Cactus Version 5, or the NEW 16 channel Flashwave III or the Phottix with TTL pass-through .

does GI sell separate Items because we need ONE transmitter + THREE flash receivers for THREE different MODEL speedlight s and ONE Alien Bee strobe
    *
are these RELIABLE and reasonably constructed ?

With the 60D I don’t think it’s worth it to go for the 7D. I rather buy the 60D and spend the less $600 on a good piece of glass.
